Make it Monday With Imelda - Process Video #6 *For You I Will

Hi Everyone,
I hope you are all having a great start to the week! I'm here with another process video! I created this layout for the Scrapbook.com December challenge Scraplift the Person Before you. You can find the challenge forum here. In order to participate, you sign up and that order dictates who you will scrap lift. I signed up after t-towngirl and so I had a look through her gallery. I decided on her two page layout "1984 Olympics." I really liked the grid design she had going on the right page and decided to lift that. I shrunk down the design and kept it quite minimal.  You can watch the process here.

Hope you enjoy and have a wonderful week! Enjoy your holidays!

Make it Monday With Linda - Scrapbook Process #5 *Sleep All Day, Sleep All Night

Good Morning Scrappy world!

We have a new process video up and running for you to check out! In this video Linda created a layout using her scrap bin. This bin has been overflowing for quite some time and so she decided to make use of it.

My sister has had this photo for a long time, it is a photo of my nephew as a baby (he is now 6!). He actually fell asleep the way it is pictured so as a scrapper, she just had to document that.

Linda kept the layout simple because she plans to add this to her album next to an already busy layout beside it in the album is quite busy.

Items used:
*Scraps of paper*Pebbles - Gift tags
*Embelishment gems
*Stazon - Jet Black
*iheart studio + Studio Calico - Stamp Set

Tune in and have a look at the process and the final product!
We hope you enjoy!

Hope you all have a great week!

Make it Monday With Imelda- Scrapbook Process # 4 *A Boy & His Tia

Good Morning Everyone,
It's Imelda here with another scrapbook layout process video. This layout was created for the Scrapbook.com December Scraplift Your Favourites, Hoarders, and Mixed media challenges. My inspiration can be found in the Scrapbook.com gallery. It was created by Kris Berc. Here is layout:

I really liked her work with the background and the pop of black throughout. I emulated that with gesso and mists for the background. I also used gesso and a cloud stencil. For the black I used it for layering and my Heidi Swapp banner. Here is my take:

You can also watch the process here:

Hope you enjoy!

Love me some Scrappy Goodness

Hi everyone,
Imelda here! Just wanted to share with you a little lot of scrappy goodness I picked up this past weekend.

My husband needed to go to Quebec (we live in Ontario) to pick something up for work and so we decided to take the kids with us for a looooooong car ride. I made the most of the trip by looking up a scrapbook store in the area. I wasn't expecting to find much, especially because there doesn't seem to be much where I live, except for Michaels. I was so excited to find a store just 30 minutes from the hotel, in the direction of where we were headed!!

My daughter and I went in and instantly fell in love with everything!! We went to Scrapbook Centrale.  Click the video below for all the scrappy happiness I picked up for only $104

Enjoy!

Make it Monday With Imelda - Scrapbook Process #3 *Papi Grande

Good morning everyone!
I am very excited to share with you another process video! I put this together last week and went through a lot of emotions about the layout. I loved it, I liked it, I hated it, and in the end I was very happy with it. I'm glad I stuck with it.

This was my first attempt at mixed media, and I was really excited! I tried some water colours, and then I feel like it was starting to take a turn for the worst! However, I persevered, and stuck with it. I'm so glad I did because in the end, I really like the result.

Watch my process by clicking below.

Have you tried mixed media? What was your experience like?
Let me know what you think! Leave a message below.

Hope you all have a great start to the week!

Make it Monday With Linda - Scrapbook Process #2 *Hooray Lets Go

Hi Everyone!

Our second scrapbook process video has been posted! So sorry about not updating the blog for this video post sooner, but I have been preparing for an interview I have coming up in the next couple of days.

So my sister Linda has a bit of a different scrapbook style than I do, but I would say she is the one to thank for getting us all started in the scrappy life. My mom has always been so creative with everything, and we all take after her, but Linda was the one to introduce us to paper crafting!

In this video she used mostly scraps left over from another layout she had worked on in order to convert them into a two page spread. The materials she used were:
Twine & Ink enamel shapes in pink and white
Doodle Twine in black
Blea & Ivy clear stamps by Kaiser Craft
Studio Calico stamp set and black rubber alpha
Staz On ink in black
Tattered Angels Glimmer Glaze in Sassy Silver
and
Sprinklers Farmhouse collection - Screen Door

You can find the video here:

We hope you enjoy!

Have a great day!

Make it Monday With Emma - Card Process #2 *Oh Crab...I Forgot

Good Morning!
Emma here with our second Make it Monday Card Process.

I love stamping and colouring with my Copic markers. Copic markers give so much dimension and life to these adorable stamped images.  I used Paper Smooches "Chubby Chum Pals" stamp set to make this adorable card for my boyfriend's Nan.

I also include a mini tutorial on how to make an action wobbler.  I have seen these in stores but hey, why buy something when you can make it?

Take a look below. Let us know if you end up using it, and share your project with us.

Enjoy!

Make it Monday With Imelda - Scrapbook Process #1 *This Guy

Here is a link to our first Scrapbook Layout process video.
It was so much fun to make!

When I watch other process videos I always feel that their process comes together so quickly and easily. In making this video, I do realize that it is would have been quite simple to edit a lot of my indecision out...BUT I wanted to share as much of my process with you as I could. I feel that many of other scrapbookers have this similar struggle, but those who may appear not to, probably spend more time planning out their layout than I normally do. Let me know what you think. What's your approach? Do you plan it out or is it a free for all?

In this video I tried to preplan a little. I knew I wanted a diagonal design, a grey, white and pink/red pallet, and to include stitching. Its a photo of my husband on our wedding day, so I wanted to stick with a love/wedding theme; however, other than that, I didn't plan much else. Take a look at my video and see my process. Hope you enjoy!

Make it Monday With Linda - Card Process #1 *I Miss You

Hi everyone!
Here is a back-post on our very first process video featuring a card I made.

I wanted to keep it simple and elegant...
* I started with white card stock, but later in the video I decided to change to the caramel light brown. I think it looks better overall.
* The embossing powder I used was Martha Stewarts - Gloss
* The paper used were scraps that I had from left over projects
 - Paper colors -
Caramel brown, white, black, and patterned white and black
- Ribbon-
The ribbon was a piece left over and it was a shiny black

* The stamp used is one that I bought at my local craft store and I am not entirely sure the name or brand... Sorrry :( but it is a gorgeous stamp and I love it alot!!

Heat embossing can be tricky, but brushing away extraneous bits of powder with a small, dry, paintbrush can really go a long way in improving the result! Be careful with your heat tool, many of them heat up quick! I usually use a paper piercer or craft tweezers to hold my material down and prevent it from blowing away.

Share any of your projects you may have been inspired to make in the comment section, we'd love to see your work!

Enjoy the video!
xo Linda
